The Way We Bake is my senior thesis book—a personal and reflective project that blends family recipes with my design philosophy. It’s both a memoir and a cookbook, built around twelve meaningful recipes and stories from my childhood. Through these pages, I explore how the act of baking—rooted in care, process, and community—shaped the way I understand creativity, design, and myself.
Each recipe holds more than ingredients; it carries memories, voices, and traditions that reflect who I am and how I create. The book draws parallels between the kitchen and the studio, revealing how small details, trial and error, and intention shape both spaces. It’s a reminder that creativity isn’t always clean or perfect—it’s often messy, emotional, and full of love.
Hand-bound and self-produced, the book is a tactile reflection of the values it holds: storytelling, intention, and care. Part memoir, part cookbook, and part creative reflection, The Way We Bake honors the messy, meaningful ways we create and connect.
