AIGA, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, is a professional organization that hosts a design conference every year for design-oriented and like-minded individuals. This conference brings together both members, and leaders who want to grow, collaborate, and share with others in the hopes of further cultivating the world of design.
Each year, AIGA chooses a new theme that reflects their goals and aspirations. Each annual conference is designed to represent its year's theme through careful consideration of visual and organizational layouts. For the 2024 AIGA Design Conference, a theme was needed that still reflected the goals of AIGA but offered a unique distinctive experience.
The AIGA Voices of Design Conference is a theoretical concept pitch for the 2024 AIGA conference. The theme of Voices of Design is centered around the 1960s Modernism movements which focuses on the idea that the present and future are informed by the past. Using fourteen designers from the '60s Modernism Movement, the conference provides sessions that incorporate the designer's philosophies, experiences, and skills. A publication was created to serve as a conference guide for those who are to attend the conference. The publication highlights the variety of classes offered as well as a breakdown of the schedule and professional artists who are teaching.
